Statutory text
(1) No person other than a self-supporting co-operative society registered under this Act, shall carry on business under the name or title of the word "self-supporting co-operative society" or its equivalent in any Indian Language or in any other manner, use this word while carrying out any trade or business.
(2) Any person contravening the provisions of sub-section (1), shall be punishable with fine of five thousand rupees and in the case of a continuing offence, after conviction of the first offence, with further fine of two hundred rupees for each day on which the offence continued.
