Eligibility for membership.
The Punjab Self Supporting Cooperative Societies Act 2006(1) Any person who fulfils the conditions, specified in the bye-laws of a self-supporting co-operative society, may become its member. (2) Any self-supporting co-operative society, if it fulfils the conditions, specified in the bye-laws of the federal self-supporting co-operative society, may become its members. (3) For becoming a member of a self-supporting co-operative society under sub-section (1) or a member of a federal self-supporting co-operative society under sub-section (2), as the case may be, an application shall have to be made under the bye-laws of such society. (4) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-sections (1), (2) and (3), it shall be the discretion of a self-supporting co-operative society or the federal self-supporting co-operative society, to admit a person or a self-supporting co-operative society as its member keeping in view the capacity of the services rendered by such society.
