Academic Council 36.

1. (1) The following shall be the members of the Academic Council:
   • (i) The Vice Chancellor shall be the ex officio Chairman,
   • (ii) The senior most Dean/Head of Department/Faculty of the University as the ex officio Vice Chairman;
   • (iii) The Director in-charge of the operations in Nagaland shall be an ex officio member;
   • (iv) Four professors of the University to be nominated by the Vice Chancellor who shall be ex officio members:
   • (v) The Finance Officers shall be an ex officio members and
   • (vi) Four external experts to be nominated by the Pro Chancellor who shall be members;
   • (vii) The Dedead of Department/Faculty concerned with the subject matter under discussion shall be coopted as member; and
   • (viii) The Registrar shall be the ex officio Secretary.
2. (2) The term of the Academic Council shall run simultaneously with the Governing Council.
3. (3) An ex officio member when ceases to hold the office by virtue of which he became an ex officio member, shall cease to be a member of the Academic Council.
4. (4) The nominating authorities shall have a right to replace their nominees to the Council at any point of time.
5. (5) Casual vacancies arising in the Council before its reconstitution shall be filled for the unexpired term.
