Functions and powers of the Board
The Manipur Town and Country Planning Act, 1975(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act and the Rules made thereunder, the functions of the Board shall be to guide, direct, and assist the Planning and Development Authorities, to advise the State Government in matters relating to planning, the development and use of rural, hill and urban land in the State, and to perform such other functions as the State Government may, from time to time, assign to the Board. (2) In particular and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing provisions, the Board may, and shall, if required by the State Government: (a) direct the preparation of development schemes by the Authorities; (b) undertake, assist and encourage the collection, maintenance, and publication of statistics, bulletins and monographs on planning and its methodology; (c) prepare and furnish reports relating to the working of this Act; (d) perform any other function which is supplemental, incidental or consequential to any of the functions aforesaid or which may be prescribed.
