Statutory text
- (1) Whoever contravenes any provision of this Act, or of any rule made thereunder, or commits a breach of any of the conditions of any permit or permission granted thereunder, shall be guilty of an offence against this Act, and shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment or a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.
- (2) When any person is convicted of an offence against this Act, the Court trying the offence may order that any trap, weapon, tools, animal, vehicle, vessel, other conveyance or articles used in the commission of the offence or in respect of which the offence has been committed, shall be forfeited to the State Government.
