Power to arrest without warrant

Statutory text
- (1) The Director or any Park Officer authorised by him may, without orders from a Magistrate and without a warrant, arrest any person against whom a reasonable suspicion exists of his having been concerned in any offence punishable under this Act and who being required to give his name and address refuses to do so, gives a name and address which the officer has reason to believe to be false or the officer has reason to believe that he will abscond or otherwise avoid the service of a summons.
- (2) Every officer making an arrest under this section shall, produce the arrested person before the nearest Magistrate, within a period of 24 hours of such arrest excluding the time necessary for the journey from the place of arrest to the Court of the Magistrate.
