Statutes

Subject to the provisions of this Act, the Statut e may provide for any matt er relating t o the

1[University] and staff, as decided by the Board of Management with approval of the Board of Governors. The St atutes may pertain to the following matters, namely:-

1. (i) the proc edure for transaction of business of the Authorities of the 1[University] and the composition of bodies not specified in this Act;
2. (ii) the operation of the permanent statutory endowment fund, 1[University] endowment fund, the general fund and the development fund;
3. (iii) the terms and conditions of appointment of 1[the Vic e Chanc ellor, the Chief Operating Officer, Registrar (COO and R), the Chief Programme Offic er,] and the Finance Offic er and their powers and functions;
4. (iv) the mode of recruitment and the terms and conditions of service of the other officers, Teachers and employees of the 1[University] ;
5. (v) the procedure for resolving disputes between the 1[University] and its officers, Faculty members, employees and students;
6. (vi) creation, abolition or restructuring of schools and centers;
7. (vii) The manner of co-operation with other Universities or institutions of higher learning;
8. (viii) the procedure for conferment of honorary degrees;
9. (ix) provisions regarding grant of free ships and scholarships;
10. (x) number of seats in different courses of studies and the procedure of admission of students to such courses;
11. (xi) the fee chargeable from students for various courses of studies not prohibited by any law from time being in force;
12. (xii) institution of fellowships, scholarships, studentships, free ships, medals and prizes;
13. (xiii) procedure for creation and abolition of posts;
14. (xiv) to specify the tenure of various authorities of the 1[University]
15. (xv) other matters which may be specified.
