Lopping of branches, etc. of tree or plant on a public place

Whoever, without the permission of the Commissioner, lops or cuts the branches or twigs of any tree or plant standing on a public place, or plucks the fruits, flowers or leaves of such tree or plant, or causes any damage thereto, shall be punishable with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or in the case of a second or subsequent breach, to two thousand rupees.
