Chapter III OFFICERS OF THE UNIVERSITY

(1) The Registrar shall be a whole time salaried officer of the University and shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor with the approval of the Board.
(2) The emoluments and conditions of service of the Registrar shall be such as may be prescribed by the Statutes.
(3) The Registrar shall be the ex-officio Secretary of the Board and the Academic Council.
(4) The Registrar shall—
- (a) manage and administer the property and funds of the University;
- (b) be the custodian of the records, the common seal and such other property of the University as the Board shall commit to his charge;
- (c) conduct the official correspondence of the University;
- (d) issue all notices convening meetings of the Board, the Academic Council and such other committees or bodies as the Vice-Chancellor may direct;
- (e) keep the minutes of all the proceedings of the meetings of the Board, the Academic Council and such other committees or bodies as the Vice-Chancellor may direct;
- (f) perform such other duties as may from time to time be assigned to him by the Vice-Chancellor: Provided that the first Registrar of the University shall be appointed by the Chancellor and he shall hold office for such period not exceeding five years and on such terms and conditions as the Chancellor may determine.
