Power to take evidence on oath etc.

The Council or the Secretary exercising powers under this Act shall for the purposes of such functioning have the same powers as are vested in a Civil Court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Central Act No.5 of 1908), while trying a suit, in respect of the following matters, namely,-

1. (a) Enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath;
2. (b) Requiring the discovery and production of documents;
3. (c) Receiving evidence on affidavit;
4. (d) Issuing notices for the examination of witnesses;
5. (e) Such other matters as may be prescribed.
