Constitution of Advisory Committee
The Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act, 1959(1) The Government shall constitute, for the State of the Tamil Nadu, a Committee called the Advisory Committee consisting of the following members, namely: — (a) the Chief Minister, who shall be the Chairman, ex-officio; (b) the Minister in-charge of the portfolio of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments who shall be the Vice-Chairman, ex-officio ; (c) the Secretary to Government in-charge of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, who shall be the Member ex-officio; (d) Such number of non-officials professing Hindu religion, nominated by the Government, of whom one shall be a member of the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes; (e) The Commissioner, who shall be the Member-Secretary, ex-officio. (2) The term of office of non-official members shall be three years and other matters relating to the Advisory Committee shall be such as may be prescribed. (3) The Government may, after giving a show cause notice remove all or any of the non-official members of the Advisory Committee in the public interest.
