(1) A teacher, any other member of the academic staff or an employee may resign from service in the case of permanent employment after giving three months’ noties or paying 3 months’ salary in lieu of notice to the Board of Management (in the case of a teacher or such member) or to the appointing authority (in the case of an employee). In the case of employment not being permanent, the giving of one month’s notice or paying one month’s salary shall be sufficient. (2) The resignation shall take effect from the date on which it is accepted by the Board of Management or, as the case may be, by the appointing authority.
