(1) Where suspension appears necessary on account of mis-conduct on the part of a teacher or any other member of the academic staff or an employee of the University, the Vice-Chancellor may place such teacher or such other member of the staff and the appointing authority may place such employee under suspension and shall forthwith send a report to the Board of Management. (2) In respect of a teacher and other member of the academic staff, the Board of Management and in respect of an employee, the appointing authority shall have power, after giving a reasonable opportunity of showing cause in an enquiry to make an order of removal from service on the ground of misconduct. (3) Save in a case referred to in clause (2), a teacher or other member of the academic staff or an employee shall not be removed from service without a good cause and without giving him three months’ notice or three months’ salary in lieu of the notice. (4) Removal from service shall take effect from the date of order of removal. Providing that in the case of suspension, such removal shall take effect from the date of suspension order.
