The East Punjab Livestock and Birds Contagious Diseases Act, 1948

This Act helps prevent the spread of contagious diseases among livestock and birds in Punjab. It lists the scheduled diseases and appoints Veterinary Surgeons and Inspectors with powers to act. The Government can regulate inter-State trade in animals, control markets and fairs, restrict the movement of infected animals, and require cleaning and disinfection.
