Offences by a Police Officer.
The Punjab Police Act, 2007Chapter IX WELFARE AND GRIEVANCE REDERESSAL MECHANISM FOR
Whoever, being a Police Officer:- (a) intentionally abdicates duties or withdraws from duties; or (b) uses criminal force against another police officer, or indulges in gross insubordination; (c) engages himself or participates in any demonstration, procession or strike, or resorts to, or in any way abets any form of strike, or uses physical force to compel any authority to concede anything; or (d) is guilty of sexual harassment in the course of duty, whether towards other police officers or any member of the public. shall on conviction by court, be punished with imprisonment for a term, which may extend to one year or with a fine, not exceeding ten thousand rupees or with both.
