Repeal and Savings

The Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology Act, 1961 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), is hereby repealed: Provided that—

1. (a) the University established, authorities constituted and officers, other than the Vice-President, appointed under the said Act shall be deemed to have been established, constituted and appointed under this Act;
2. (b) the person appointed to be the president under the said Act, shall be deemed to be the Vice-Chancellor appointed under this Act and shall subject to the other provisions of this Act, continue to hold office so long as he would have otherwise continued as such President;
3. (c) the aforesaid authorities shall continue to hold office until they are reconstituted in accordance with the provisions of this Act; and
4. (d) statutes and regulations made, notifications and notices issued, contracts entered into and all actions taken and things done under the said Act, shall be deemed to have been made, issued, entered into, taken and done under this Act and shall continue in force until new provisions are made under the appropriate provisions of this Act.
