Power to compound certain offences

Statutory text
(1) The Prohibition Commissioner may accept from any person who has committed an offence under Clause (j) of Sub-section (1) of Section 4 so far as it relates to the consumption of liquor, or under Section 11 or Section 14, a sum of money not exceeding five hundred rupees by way of composition of such offence. (2) On the payment of such sum of money to the Prohibition Commissioner, the accused person shall be discharged, the property seized, if any, shall be released, and no further proceeding shall be taken against such person or property in respect of such offence.
