Amendment of Section 16

Sub-section (2) of section 16 of the Principal Act shall be substituted by the following, as follows :- “In the event of the Board of Councillors failing to elect a Chairman or a Vice Chairman in the manner prescribed, the State Government shall appoint the Executive Officer of the Municipality to act as the Chairman or the Vice Chairman, as the case may be”.
