Admission to the University
The Mahatma Gandhi Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam 1991(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act and the Statutes, the University shall be open to all persons: Provided that the University shall not grant admission in any course to such persons who do not possess the prescribed academic standards for admission or shall not keep in the university rolls such persons whose academic record is lower than the minimum standard required for granting a degree: Provided further that the University shall not grant admission in any course to more students than can be accommodated in the faculties or departments available in the University or in any specific college as determined by the Vidya Parishad. (2) Subject to the above provisions, the State Government may direct that the University shall reserve places for the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes or for candidates from other states of India: Provided that no such person shall be entitled to admission to the University unless he fulfills the standards prescribed by the University for such candidates.
