Incorporation of the University

(1) A University by the name of "Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya" shall be established, which shall consist of a Chancellor, a Vice-Chancellor, a Pro-Vice-Chancellor, a Management Board, a Vidya Parishad and such other authorities and officers as provided in this Act or the Statutes. (2) The University shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal and shall sue and be sued by the said name. (3) Subject to the provisions of this Act, the University shall be competent to acquire and hold both movable and immovable property, to lease, sell or otherwise transfer any such movable or immovable property which may have become vested in it or may have been acquired by it for the purposes of the University and to contract and to do all such other things as may be necessary for the purposes of this Act. (4) In all suits and other legal proceedings by or against the University, the pleadings shall be signed and verified by the Registrar and all processes in such suits and proceedings shall be issued to and served on the Registrar of the University. (5) The headquarters of the University shall be at Chitrakoot, District Satna, Madhya Pradesh.
