Statutory text
(1) The Government may, appoint such officers of Government or of any local authority as they think fit to be Inspectors for the purposes of this Act, within such local limits as the Government may assign to them. (2) The Government may, by notification, appoint any person to be a Chief Inspector who shall, under this Act, exercise the powers of an Inspector throughout the State. (3) Every Inspector appointed under sub-section (1) and the Chief Inspector appointed under sub-section (2) shall be deemed to be public servants within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code (Central Act 45 of 1860).
