- 0. Preamble
- 1. The Bombay Hindu Heirs’ Relief Act 1866 Bombay Act VII of 1866.
- 2. As suggested by the One-Man Committee it is considered desirable to extend it to the whole State.
- 3. One-Man Committee has suggested that it is desirable to make it applicable to such cases and to extend it to the whole State to prevent such practices in a village.
- 4. Some consequential amendments are also suggested.

- 6. It is proposed to repeal that Madras Act and define the expression “couching” in section 36A of this Act.

- 8. It is proposed to insert a similar provision in section 165 of the Land Revenue Act 1964 and repeal the said Madras Act of 1831.
