(1) The prescribed authority may accept from any person who is reasonably suspected of having committed an offence under this Act, a sum of money by way of composition of such offence and may out of the money so received compensate the person against whom the offence has been committed to the extent the prescribed authority deems reasonable.
(2) On the composition of offence, no further proceeding in respect thereof shall be taken against the accused and if any proceeding has already been instituted against him in a court, the composition shall have the effect of acquittal.
