Power of prescribed authority to summon and enforce attendance of witnesses and other persons

The prescribed authority shall have all the powers of a civil court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (5 of 1908) while hearing an application under this Act, in respect of the following matters, namely:—

1. (i) summoning and enforcing attendance of the complainant or the person against whom complaint is made under this Act and witnesses required in connection therewith;
2. (ii) compelling the production of any document; and
3. (iii) examining witnesses on oath; and may summon and examine suo motu any person whose evidence appears to be material.
