Power to seize.

(1) When an offence under sections 14, 15 or 17 has been committed, any instrument, implement, machinery, device, tool, boat, vehicle or any other material or object used in committing any such offence, shall be seized by the Gram Panchayat or Municipality. (2) The Gram Panchayat or Municipality seizing any property, vehicle, material or object under sub-section (1) shall place on them a mark indicating that the same has been so seized and shall, as soon as may be, make a report of such seizure to the police station having jurisdiction to try the offence on account of which the seizure is made.
