Investigation of crimes

The officers posted to the special crime investigation units may investigate crimes such as murder, kidnapping, rape, dacoity, robbery, dowry-related offences, serious cases of cheating, misappropriation and other economic offences, as notified by the Director General of Police, besides any other cases specially entrusted to the unit by the Superintendent of Police of a district.
