Authorisation of officers

1. (1) The appropriate Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, authorise any officer of the State Government to exercise the powers conferred upon it by this Act or the rules made thereunder, in such area as may be specified in the notification.
2. (2) Every officer authorised under sub-section
3. (1) shall be deemed to be a public servant within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code, and shall be officially subordinate to such officer as the appropriate Government may specify in this behalf.
