(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, the taluka panchayat shall pay to its

President an honorarium at such rate as may be prescribed. (2)(a) The President shall be entitled without payment of rent, to the use of a residence, in the headquarters of the panchayat or with the previous

a house allowance at such rate as the State Governmet may determine by a general or special order.

1. (b) No charge shall fall on the President personally in respect of the maintenance of any residence provided under this sub-section.

1. (3) During the leave or absence of the President, the Vice-President shall be paid such honorarium and allowances as may be prescribed.
2. (4) The President, Vice-President and a member of the panchayat shall be entitled

to travelling allowances while touring on public business at such rates and upon such

conditions as may be determined by rules made either prospectively or retrospectively.
