Honorary degrees

If not less than two-third of the members of the Senate recommend that an honorary degree, or academic distinction be conferred upon any person on the ground that he, in their opinion, by reason of eminent attainment and powers, is fit and proper to receive such degree or academic distinction, the Chancellor may, by an order, decide that the same may be conferred on the person.
