Water supply and sanitary convenience

Every market shall be provided with sufficient water supply, drainage, sanitary latrines and urinals; and stalls for sale of meat, fish, fruits or vegetables and shall be on raised plinth with, as far as practicable, such impervious floor as may be specified by the Council. An owner of a private market who does not comply with the aforesaid provisions as regards the plinth or floor of stalls shall be liable to have his licence cancelled in addition to any penalty to which he may be liable under this Act.
