Prohibiting lopping of branches etc. of trees.---

Whoever, with the permission of the Council lops or cuts the branches or twigs of any tree or plant standing on a public place or plucks the fruits, flowers or leaves of such tree or plant or causes any damage thereto, shall be punishable with fine which may extend to [one thousand rupees] or in the case of second or subsequent breach, to [two thousand rupees].
