Appointment of Prescribed Authority

Appointment of Prescribed Authority. –

1. (1) The State Government, may by notification, appoint an officer, not below the rank of Conservator of Forests, to be the Prescribed Authority, for the purpose of this Act;
2. (2) The State Government may define the local limits within which a Prescribed Authority shall exercise the powers conferred and perform the duties assigned to him by or under this Act.
