Compounding of Offences
Bihar Gig and Platform Based Workers (Registration, Social Security and Welfare) Act, 2025Compounding of Offences.- 1. Any offence punishable under this Act may, either before or after the institution of the prosecution, on an application by the alleged offender, be compounded by payment of compounding amount twenty five percent of penalty, by such officer or authority as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify in this behalf: a) Provided that, the appropriate Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, amend the said specified compounding amount: b) Provided further that, the offences of the same nature committed by the same offender for second time shall be compoundable with permission of court: i. Compounding prior to prosecution shall discharge the offender fully from further proceedings regarding that offence. ii. In cases where prosecution has commenced, the Grievance Redressal Officer may apply to the competent court for case withdrawal, which shall result in discharge or acquittal under the relevant legal provisions.
