Bare Act
Uttarakhand Minotity Education Act, 2025
This Act establishes the Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority to regulate education for minority communities in the state. It applies to Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Parsi groups. The law requires all minority educational institutions to get official recognition from the new Authority. These schools can teach specific religious subjects alongside standard school subjects, and the Authority will oversee their exams and issue certificates. Existing Madarsas have a temporary exemption until the 2025-26 academic year but must re-apply for recognition starting in 2026-27. The Authority will be led by an educationist and include members from the minority communities and government officials.
