Constitution of the Board

The Board shall consist of the following directors, namely :-

1. (a) the Secretary to Government in charge of the department of Rural Development and Local Adminis- tration who shall be the Chalrman of the Board, ex- officio ;
2. (b) the Secretary to Government in charge of the Finance Department, ex-0fSicio ;
3. (c) the Member-Secretary of the Madras Metro- politan Development Authority established under section 9-A of the Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act, 1971 (Tamil Nadu Act 35 of 1972), ex-ofSicio ;
4. (d) the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation of Madras, ex-o8icio ;
5. (e) six non-official directors nominated by the Government, of whom-
   • (i) one shall be a woman ;
   • (ii) one shall be a person to represent theinterests of the general public ;
   • (iii) one shall be a person who is experienced in Government or commercia! accounts and is qualified as a Chartered Accountant w~thln the meanlng of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 (Central Act XXXVIII of 19491, or a Cost Accountant withln the meaning of the cost and Works Accountants Act, 1959 (Central Act 23 of 1959) 4
6. (h) one shall be an experienced public health gr water works engineer ; and
   • (v) two shall be persons to represent major industrial or commercial organisations in the Madras Metropolitan Area ;
7. (f) three whole time direc ors appointed by the Government, namely :-
   • (i) a Managing Director ;
   • (ii) a Finance Director ; and
   • (iii) an Engineering Director.
