Appointment of public stands.

(1) The Deputy Commissioner shall appoint a sufficient number of public stands for hackney carriages. (2) Every public stand so appointed shall have a board placed in a conspicuous place on the same containing a notice in English and Tamil or other vernacular language stating that the stand is a public stand under this Act, and specifying the number of carriages that may stand upon it.
