Resignation of Adhakshya and Upadhakshya or a member

1. (1) An Adhakshya, or an Upadhakshya or a member of a Zilla Panchayat may resign his office by notifying in writing his intention to do so to the prescribed authority and on such resignation being accepted the Adhakshya or the Upadhakshya or the member shall vacate his office and casual vacancy shall be deemed to have occurred, in such office: Provided that a person tendering resignation may withdraw his resignation before it is accepted.
2. (2) When the resignation is accepted under sub-section (1), the prescribed authority shall communicate it to the members of the Zilla Panchayat within thirty days of such acceptance.
