Academic Council – Compositions and term office

(1) The Academic Council shall be the Academic body of the University and shall consist of the following persons, namely :-

(i) the Vice-Chancellor, (ia) the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, (ii) the Deans of Faculties, (iii) the Heads of University Departments of the status of a Professor or a Reader. (iv) the Convener of the Board of Studies, and (v) five persons co-opted by the Academic Council who possess special attainments in particular studies and who are not teachers in the University or any affiliated college or approved institution.

(2) The term of office of the members of the Academic Council, other than ex-officio members, shall be three years.
