- (1) The Academic Council shall consist of the following, namely:- The Academic Council1the Vice-ChancellorEx-officio Chairman2the Director, ResearchEx-officio Member3the Director, Extension EducationEx-officio Member4the Director, Prioritization, Monitoring and EvaluationEx-officio Member5the Director Students WelfareEx-officio Member6the Director, Human Resource DevelopmentEx-officio Member7the Chairpersons of all FacultiesEx-officio Member8Deans of all constituent collegesEx-officio Member9the Controller of ExaminationsEx-officio Member10the University Heads of all the departments from each Faculty (from teaching campuses only not below the rank of Associate Professor)Member11one teacher of the Professor rank from each Faculty to be nominated by the ViceChancellor on rotational basisMember12one eminent Agricultural Educationist from outside of the University to be nominated by the Vice-ChancellorMember13RegistrarMember14the Director of EducationSecretary (2) The Academic Council may co-opt as members not more than four persons in such manner as may be prescribed so as to secure adequate representation, of different sectors of agriculture and allied fields. (3) All members of the Academic Council other than the ex-officio members and members referred in sub-section (2) shall hold office for a term of two years. (4) One third of the members of the Academic Council shall form quorum at a meeting of the Council: Provided that if a meeting of the Council is adjourned for want of quorum, no quorum shall be necessary at the next meeting for the transaction of the same business. (5) Normally the Academic Council shall meet once in every four months on such dates as may be fixed by the ViceChancellor, however, special meetings of the Academic Council can be called by the Vice-Chancellor.
