Definitions

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,-

1. (a) “Director” means the Director of the Institute appointed under section 10;
2. (b) “Fund” means the Fund of the Institute referred to in section 26;
3. (c) “Governing Body” means the Governing Body of the Institute constituted under section 16;
4. (d) “Government” means the Government of the State of Rajasthan;
5. (e) “Institute” means the institution known as the Rajasthan Institute of Medical Sciences, Jaipur, incorporated under this Act;
6. (f) “member” means a member of the Institute;
7. (g) “prescribed” means prescribed by rules made under this Act;
8. (h) “President” means the President of the Institute referred to in section 9;
   • (i) “regulations” means regulations made under this Act;
9. (j) “Search and Selection Committee” means the committee constituted under sub-section (1) of section 10;
10. (k) “Secretary In-charge” means the Secretary to the Government In-charge of a department and includes an Additional Chief Secretary or a Principal Secretary when he is in charge of a department;
11. (l) “State” means the State of Rajasthan;
12. (m) “teacher” includes a Senior Professor, Professor, Additional Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Lecturer or any person appointed under this Act, for the conduct of training, research, or imparting medical, paramedical, nursing or other education in the Institute.
