CHAPTER VI (A) CONDITIONS OF SERVICE OF UNIVERSITY EMPLOYEES
The Panjab University Act, 1947
This regulation defines the employment conditions for all Panjab University staff, ranging from professors and senior administrators to clerks and support personnel. It regulates hiring processes, probation periods, salary scales, disciplinary actions, and resignations. Additionally, it outlines various leave benefits, including study and sabbatical leaves, to support academic research. This framework matters because it establishes very clear administrative authority, ensures fair treatment and job security for university employees, and maintains institutional stability. By structuring these crucial rights and duties, the law enables the university to operate smoothly while actively helping teachers succeed in their own professional academic and research careers.
