The appointing authority may, however, grant exemption in exceptional cases.

A permanent employee, recruited on or after January 1,1968, shall give, at least three months’ notice before resigning his post, failing which he shall forfeit salary for the same period. Provided that Syndicate may waive this requirement in part or whole for valid reasons. Provided further that in case of an employee who is on long leave and resigns his post or his post is declared vacant under Regulation 11.9, the stipulation of three months notice shall not be required.
