Provided that nothing in this section shalI apply to the construction of a water-course from an existing canal.

Application for permission and procedure thereon

1. (1) Any person desiring to construct a canal intended to be fed from any source of supply which has been notified by the '['(State) Government] wder section 4, my apply, in writing, to the Collector, for the permission presmibed in that section.
