Appointment of Deputy and Assistant Commissioners

(1) The State Government may appoint a Deputy Commissioner and such number of Assistant Commissioners as they deem necessary. (2) Appointment of the said Officers shall be from among persons who prefers the Hindu religion and who are members of the State Judicial Service. (a) in the case of the Deputy Commissioner, not below rank of a Subordinate Judge ; and (b) in the case of an Assistant Commissioner, of the rank of a Munsif or above and they shall cease to hold Office as such when they cease to profess that religion.
