Provided that nothing in this section shall exonerate any person who, when such defence became necessary, was hunting any game or committing any contravention of this Act.

Games officers to be public servants All Game Officers and other Officers exercising any of the powers conferred by this Act shal be deemed to be public servants within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code.
