Bare Act
The Madhya Pradesh Tuberculosis Sanatorium (Regulation of Buildings) Act, 1948
This Act empowers the State Government to regulate construction activities in areas surrounding tuberculosis sanatoriums. Its primary objective is to ensure that buildings near these medical facilities maintain high standards of sanitation, ventilation, and safety to prevent the spread of disease and protect patient health. It applies to anyone intending to erect or alter a building within a declared "sanatorium area." For an ordinary citizen, this means you cannot build or renovate property in these zones without explicit government sanction. The law grants authorities the power to stop unauthorized construction, order demolitions, and impose strict building conditions without liability for compensation.
