Power to release on licence
The Madhya Pradesh Borstal Act, 1928Subject to any general or special directions of the State Government, the visiting committee with the sanction of the Inspector-General of Prisons may at any time after the expiration of one year of detention in the case of an inmate ordered to be detained for not more than three years and, in any other case, of two years of detention, if satisfied that the inmate is likely to abstain from crime, and lead a useful and industrious life, by licence permit him to be discharged from the Borstal Institution on condition that he be placed under the supervision or authority of any person or secular institution or religious society (professing the same religion as the inmate) named in the licence who may be willing to take charge of him.
