Penalty for instrumental manipulations by nurse or midwife.- Any [“nurse, midwife, auxiliary nurse-midwife, health visitor or dhai”] who resorts to instrumental or intra-uterine manipulations to effect delivery, shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to three months or with fine which may extend to one hundred rupees or with both.
