Supervising authority.-(1) The Government may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint for such area as may be notified a local supervising authority consisting of such members as may be specified in such notification to exercise general supervision over nurses, midwives, auxiliary nurse-midwives, health visitors and dhais within such area and to exercise and perform such other powers and duties as may be prescribed by rules.
- (2) The Government may, subject to such conditions and restrictions as may be prescribed by rules, appoint a chief supervising authority to exercise control over local supervising authorities.
