Recovery of public money or property from revenue officers or other persons
The Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964Recovery of public money or property from revenue officers or other persons.—(1) If a Revenue Officer or any other person holding any office under the State Government, or any person who has held such office is, or has been, in possession of any public money or property, or if any such person fails to pay or deliver the same to the Government or to an officer authorised to receive the same, on demand made in writing by the Deputy Commissioner, then such money or property shall be deemed to be an arrear of land revenue and shall be recoverable as such or as a public demand under any law for the time being in force or in any other manner as may be prescribed:
Provided that nothing in this section shall apply to any money or property which is the subject matter of a dispute in a civil court.
- (2) The Deputy Commissioner may, for the purpose of recovering any such money or property, exercise all or any of the powers for the recovery of arrears of land revenue or public demands under the provisions of this Act or any other law for the time being in force.
